BED WARMING SERVICE CAN BE ABUSED IN SOME OF THE HOTELS …
Human bed warming service which is launched by Holiday Inn Hotels in UK in this month , reminded me toilet warming application of the slaves in B.C. Roman period.
There were in open air public toilet as round bottomed seats side by side made of marble. When the Romans wants to shit, they were ordering to the slaves to warm the marble closets with their naked ass, then they were seating on natural heated marble holes.
After this bed warming service will be the next step ‘’warming cooler toilet seat with human warmers just before using it by customers ?
Hoteliers are wondering also the unseen and unconsidered inconveniences and negative effects which will be faced while application of this concept.
This concept can be also bad example and therefore can be abused definitely all over the world by some hoteliers who intend to operate sex tourism. It must not be forgotten that there are many countries colder than England in the world.They will probably turn off the heating system of the hotel in midnight and call the guestrooms and ask whether they want pretty and with attractive dress warm-blooded live blankets of different colours and types. By such an offer do these hoteliers have legally committed sexual crime or not? Besides,this application is contrary to social values and cultures and can damage the image of hoteliers.These kind of services would be expected in Thailand or in UK?
Under these circumstances does this concept comprise human exploitation and is contrary to human rights, human dignity or not ?
This kind of services must be sustainable, measurable, acceptable and applicable . No one can say that this service is due to global warming and energy saving measures in the hotels. It also hurts the guest expectation of comfort from a leading hotel group.
Unfortunately I find this bed warming service disturbing,erotic and risky. I think that Holiday Inn Group must not be the pioneer of such open to exploitation application.This could be just an innovative trial application and must be stopped in the shortest time.
Probably more than %90 percent of the customers will demand female bed warmers. It must be considered that while operating this service hoteliers will encounter many unexpected difficulties and inconvenience with the customers. According to me, this service can be only provided warmly while the customer in room and this extra charge service must be done daily like turn-down service in these kind of cool rooms. Warmers can be chosen by customers from bed warmers card in the room. When the bed warmers leave the room, must wish to the customer ‘’good night’’ and can get some tip.
Hoteliers have to take into consideration that some of the customers will harass the bed warmers and offer to spend the night together in the bed she warmed. Bed warming service can cause blood heating and raise sexual fantasy for lonely guest. I think that guests who had this service could be awaken sexually and instead of sleeping soundly would probably watch hotel’s erotic channels on PAY TV. Because we know that according to scientific research in every 8 minutes human beings are thinking about sex.
As Dr Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre explains: “There’s plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning of the night when body temperature starts to drop. The decline occurs partly because the blood vessels of the hands, face and feet open up and release heat.
Hoteliers have to find reasonable answers to the questions which come from the customers concerning this service . If the customers say that ‘’The bed is so cold then I want a pair of female blankets? Or ‘’ The bed is still cold. How much extra shall I pay for you to keep me warm?’’ If hotel can’t meet the demand of bed warmers by staff, then what kind of outsourcing company will be called around the hotel?
If the aim is really to warm the bed in the shortest time then bed warmers must be male. I know that hoteliers will find it impulsive and non-hygienic. But physical, logical and scientific facts point to male warmers.
Normal body temperature of a human varies according to sex, activity status, receiving food and fluid status, time of day, menstrual cycle in women.Normal body temperature is between 36.5 ° C and 37.2 ° C. According to a study conducted with the body and and organ structures related to the genus, body temperature of men is higher then women. Men is more watery and bloody than women. %60-70 percent of the male body consists of water. Female body consists %50-60 percent of water. Male burns 39.5 calories per square meter of body while women burn 37 calories in motionless position. Men need 2700 calories per day while women need 2000 calories per day. Also men have a skin of 1.8 square meter, women have 1.6 square meters of skin.Female’s skin is thinner and drier,therefore is more sensitive than male.Sweat glands and subcutaneous fat is higher in men body.That is why male’s skin is more sweaty and oily than female’s skin.
Within this scientific and functional knowledges, hoteliers have to overview and reconsider bed warming service.
